Dr. Margaret Siems

margaretDr. Margaret Siems, a native of Huntingdon PA, is a 2001 graduate of The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her B.S. in biology in 1994 from Juniata College.

Dr. Siems lived in Media, PA while attending veterinary school. She ended up staying in Media, where she raised her two children and opened her first cat hospital. She sold The Cat Hospital of Media in 2015 after moving back to Huntingdon, and opened Centre County Cat Hospital in February of 2016.

Dr. Siems has been a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) since graduating from veterinary school. She has attended the AAFP’s feline conferences every year for the last 23 years, keeping up with current trends in feline medicine.

Immediately following graduation, Dr. Siems worked in the ICU at The University of Pennsylvania’s small animal hospital before accepting a position at an emergency hospital in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She started a cat clinic at that hospital while also working at a cat hospital in center city Philadelphia. Feline medicine has always been Dr. Siems’ passion, long before the concept of feline exclusive veterinary practices.

It is Dr. Siems’ lifelong bond with cats and her understanding of feline psychology that makes her such a success in feline medicine. She treats each and every cat with compassion and the respect that he/she deserves. Dr. Siems is often referred to as a true “cat whisperer.”

She currently lives with her husband, 2 cats, 2 dogs, chickens, and welcomed her first daughter in December.
