Dr. Margaret Siems

margaretDr. Margaret Siems, a native of Huntingdon PA, is a 2001 graduate of The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her B.S. in biology in 1994 from Juniata College.

Dr. Siems lived in Media, PA, outside of Philadelphia, for the last twenty years, where she raised her two children, and opened her first cat hospital in 2006. She sold The Cat Hospital of Media in 2015 after moving back to Huntingdon, and opened Centre County Cat Hospital in February of 2016.

Dr. Siems has been a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and AAFP (American Association of Feline Practioners) since graduating from veterinary school. She has attended the AAFP’s feline conferences every year for the last 15 years, keeping up with current trends in feline medicine.

Immediately following graduation, Dr. Siems worked in the ICU at The University of Pennsylvania’s small animal hospital before accepting a position at an emergency hospital in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She started a cat clinic at that hospital while also working at a cat hospital in center city Philadelphia. Feline medicine has always been Dr. Siems’ passion, long before the concept of feline exclusive veterinary practices.

It is Dr. Siems’ lifelong bond with cats and her understanding of feline psychology that makes her such a success in feline medicine. She treats each and every cat with compassion and the respect that he/she deserves. Dr. Siems is often referred to as a true “cat whisperer.”

Nicole

nicoleHi my name is Nicole! I am a full-time veterinary technician here at Centre County Cat Hospital, with over 15 years of experience in the field. I attended Penn State University for three years, majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Psychology. I then transferred to Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA to be closer to home and family. While there, I earned two associate degrees in the Animal Center Management and Veterinary Technician programs.

I have four cats of my own Tony, Daisy, Icee, and Alaska, and they are the loves of my life. I have always loved animals, but I developed a strong passion for working with cats after many years in the field. I strive every day to do better than the day before and continue to gain knowledge about these unique and fascinating felines. Love Cats!

Marissa

aleah-marissaHi, my name is Marissa and I am a part time receptionist and veterinary assistant at Centre County Cat Hospital. I am learning the skills that are required to become a veterinary technician. I am currently a sophomore at Penn State University. I was originally majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Equine Science, but I am now majoring in both English and Classical and Ancient Mediterranean Studies.

I still have a passion for animals and have been working with a variety of animals for many years. My family has raised horses for generations and I am often at the stables taking care of the horses or teaching lessons. I have three cats at home, all boys, Cheddar, Simon, and Gaga. They are the silliest kitties I know. I love cats and I am excited to gain even more knowledge and experience working with them.
